Every child has an absorbent mind. It is universal. It is different from an adult’s mind. It aids adaption. It helps the child to learn the fundamental characteristics of their culture. They learn such things as language, walking and talking, picking up cultural cues and how each family behaves in different social situations such as at meal times. It is effortless. The child is driven by their own interest and makes their own choices, in such things as which toy to grab.
It is unlimited in its possibilities. The interactions a child has in their environment has a huge effect on how the mind, its connections, will develop. It functions 24/7. It never turns off unlike an adult who has the ability to switch off and not listen. It is creative. It is not just a store of information, the child uses it to build the characteristics of who they will become – Psychic Embryo.
The child is not just adapting to their culture but they are also becoming a social being. They are learning to recognise the needs of others such as sharing. This takes time to develop and is not to be expected that they will be able to do this at a toddler age.
The absorbent mind of a child functions like a sponge. A sponge is absorbent. It is able to soak up a lot of water and even though you can squeeze the water out, there is always some still left. The child can’t be taught, they need to do it themselves.
Like a camera the child can take in all the information in just a click. As a photo takes time to develop in a darkroom, so the child also needs time to process all that they have taken in. They need to take time to touch, taste, hear, see, and smell the good and the bad, the easy and difficult, beautiful and ugly in the environment. It then takes time to incarnate, to process, which can also include time till they can use the information such as being able to talk.
The adults mind is more like a painter. They take in the elements of what they see that is important or attractive to them. The adult picks and chooses. This takes more time to represent and will vary between each person. The adult can choose not to let an incident or something they see change who they are. A child absorbs everything and it becomes a part of who they are.
